Sportscover Europe sponsors 17-year-old Anna Hursey

Jan 19, 2024

We are delighted to announce our sponsorship of Anna Hursey, a Welsh Table Tennis and rising young star. This sponsorship adds to our existing support package for Welsh Sport and strengthens our commitment to nurture talent and develop the next generation.

Aged 17, Anna is thought to be the youngest person to represent Wales at senior level in any sport. She was only 10 when she competed for Wales in a European Championship qualification match against Kosovo back in 2017.

Hursey, from Camarthen, competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, and the 2022 Commonwealth Games in BirminghamUnited Kingdom, where she came third in the women’s doubles event.

Anna is a United Nations ambassador for climate change in sport, and in 2021, Hursey spoke with US President Joe Biden about climate change.

Moving into 2024, Anna is 94th in the ITTF Table Tennis World Ranking. We will be following her as she targets the top 80 by June, for a qualifying place in the Paris Olympics. Over the upcoming months, Anna will be participating in WTT Star Contender events, and training camps in Singapore, Korea, Japan and England.

We look forward to supporting and cheering Anna on!

“We have had a long association with Welsh sport and are delighted to be supporting the next generation of athletes. We wish Anna every success on her journey and will be cheering her along every step of the way. “
